Livingston Medical Group’s History

At its start 40 years ago, Livingston Medical Group was nothing more than a small medical office owned and operated by Dr. J. Wolohan. Throughout the course of a day Dr. Wolohan saw as many as 75 patients and did everything from delivering babies to making house calls. After a lot of thought, Dr. Wolohan decided to sell the building and accept a residency in Psychiatry in the Bay Area. A group of local residents got together, raised money and purchased the building from him. This was the start of Livingston Medical Group. Many of those residents became members of the board. At that time, LMG was staffed by a team on Stanford Medical Students and had one supervising physician. A group of local residents who were representative of the community served as the clinic’s Board of Directors.

Today, Livingston Medical Group operates under a Board of Directors and the Senior Management Team. LMG currently serves the health care needs approximately 14,000 individuals each year from Livingston, Delhi, Stevinson, Hilmar, Cressey, Ballico and other surrounding areas. We have grown so much in the last 40 years that Livingston Medical Group now has 12 providers and has expanded services in the areas of family practice, immunizations/vaccinations, gynecology, preventive medicine, chronic disease management, reproductive health, perinatal services, lab, x-ray, ultrasound, and health education. We look forward to another 40 years of serving our community.
